Yet another one of our rituals in Creatures is the weekly and sometimes bi-weekly trek to Pizza Pomodoro for lunch. The secret is to pre-order, otherwise waiting for a lunchtime pizza can take a while...Massimo can get pretty busy! Seen here behind his counter full of fresh ingredients.
Order the "Fantasia" where you can choose your own toppings...My usual has salami, spinach, mushrooms and blue cheese on it...mmmmmm...and yes that is mine on the left :)
The pizza oven was built using imported Italian materials, by "imported" Italian craftsmen, because Massimo couldn't find anyone in New Zealand who could build it. Modena...world class pizza ovens AND Ferraris! Who knew?
