Mission Hills Here I Come!!!

And in other news, I'm officially booked for China/Hong Kong in June. Reservation in the 2007 Mission Hills Golfathon, that's 10 rounds in 5 days! I'll be sure to treat myself to a massage or two while at the resort. Then a few days in HK and maybe a side trip to bangkok for a couple days.

Pizza Pomodoro

Where...Pizza Pomodoro. Who...Massimo. What...the best authentic Italian pizza in New Zealand.

At our office, the day of the week that comes after Thursday is not Friday, it's "Pizza Friday". Yet another one of our rituals in Creatures is the weekly and sometimes bi-weekly trek to Pizza Pomodoro for lunch. The secret is to pre-order, otherwise waiting for a lunchtime pizza can take a while...Massimo can get pretty busy! Seen here behind his counter full of fresh ingredients.

Order the "Fantasia" where you can choose your own toppings...My usual has salami, spinach, mushrooms and blue cheese on it...mmmmmm...and yes that is mine on the left :)

The pizza oven was built using imported Italian materials, by "imported" Italian craftsmen, because Massimo couldn't find anyone in New Zealand who could build it. Modena...world class pizza ovens AND Ferraris! Who knew?

A peek inside the oven.

Friday Sundae

So like I was saying, getting back on "the program" hasn't been going so well. There seems to be an underlying theme permeating throughout Weta, and it seems to revolve strangely around food. It seems like someone is always trying to get you to eat something! Sometimes healthy, and sometimes not.

Lately I've been drinking fruit smoothies for breakfast, Lance has gotten me hooked on them. A couple of bananas, strawberries, blueberries, maybe a couple slices of canteloupe, and a handful of brazil nuts. Blended up with some soy milk and presto...breakfast. And then to offset my healthy smoothie, this week's installment of 'Treat Of The Week'...ice cream sundaes...oh well...

Scones

Special treatment. Today our receptionist Shar took matters into her own hands literally, and decided to bake our entire office fresh homemade scones in the downstairs kitchen. Fresh from the oven. Warm. The butter and jelly melting into each nook and cranny. Not for me though, I had it plain...trying to get back onto the program...rather unsuccessfully I might add....

The lineup of people in the kitchen was rather amusing.
